ENGLAND

Liverpool missed the English Premier League title last season with just a point less than league winners Manchester City. The Reds earned an astonishing 97 points but still needed two more to be sure of the title. They started their new campaign with an emphatic 4-1 win against newly promoted Norwich City.
The Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah who bagged 22 league goals last season was on a target for the opening fixture for Liverpool in a third consecutive season as he grabbed their second at the 19th minute and provided the fourth to Virgil Van Dijk with a well taken corner kick.

Algerian captain Riyad Mahrez showed some of the form he had during his Leicester City days. He provided two assists for Rahem Sterling as defending Premier League champions Manchester City had a walk in the park over West Ham with a 0-5 away win.

Gabonese forward Pierre Emerick Aubameyang opened his account with the lone goal for Arsenal in their 0-1 win against Newcastle.

GERMANY

In the German Regionalliga Sudwest, 19 year old German born Cameroon forward Cyril Akono gave Mainz 05 Reserves the lead at the 5th minute in their Day 3 encounter away to FSV Frankfurt 1899.
They held on to the lead right to the 90th minute of the game before conceding a late penalty that Muhamed Alawie converted for the home side.

In the German DFB Cup, Fortuna Dusseldorf defeated FC 08 Villingen by 1-3 their Ghanaian contingent hugely contributed to this victory. Nana Ampomah scored their first goal at the 56th minute and Kelvin Ofori scored the second at the 102nd into extra time.

FRANCE

Potential Mali international forward Moussa Dembele opened the scoring for Lyon at the 5th minute, in their 0-3 away win against Monaco in the opening fixture of the new French Ligue 1 season.

25 year old Ivorian midfielder Jean Eudes Aholou opened his goal scoring account for Saint-Etienne when he scored their second goal at the 11th minute in their 1-2 win against Dijon.

Malagasy international defender Jeremy Morel was the lone scorer in Rennes’ 0-1 win against Montpellier. He scored the lone goal of the game for Rennes at the 9th minute.

Newly recruited Congolese midfielder Chadrac Akolo was on target at the 81st minute for Amiens in their 2-1 loss away to Nice. He was a 63rd minute substitute as he was brought in to take the place of Juan Otero.

Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen scored a brace for Lille in their 2-1 win against Lille. He got their first at 19th minute before scoring the winner at the 80th minute.

24 year old Senegalese forward Habib Diallo scored the equalizer at the 47th minute for Metz in their 1-1 away draw against Strasbourg.

In the French Ligue 2, 22 year old Congolese forward Yoane Wissa saw red at the 78th in AS Nancy’s 1-1 at home against Lorient.

Niort made light work of visiting Chateauroux with a sound 3-0 win. Their potential Malian forward Ibrahim Sissoko provided an assist for their second goal before grabbing their third at the 90th minute thanks to an assist from their Gabonese midfielder Louis Ameka Autchanga.

HOLLAND

After a disappointing 2-2 draw against Vitesse in their opening fixture of the 2019-2020 Eredivisie season, defending champions Ajax of Amsterdam and their Cameroon international goalkeeper Andre Onana, have kept their first clean sheet of the season in the Eredivisie with a 5-0 win against FC Emmen.
It was a much welcomed clean sheet for their 23 year old Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana who looked to be suffering a deep in form.

SWITZERLAND

Cameroon forward Jean Pierre Nsame made all the difference for defending Swiss champions Young Boys of Berne in their 2-3 win against FC St Gallen 1879. The Cameroon forward led a three man front line for Young Boys alongside Ivorian Roger Assale and his Cameroon compatriot Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu. He scored their first goal at the 13th minute and got his second and their third at the 81st minute. It’s his second brace of the season, following a brace last weekend against Lugano.
Nsame is now the league’s leading goal scorer with four goals in four games.

25 year old Gambian forward Assan Ceesay gave FC Zurich a 2-1 lead at the 77th minute but they gave away the lead at 90th minute against Neuchatel Xamax in a 2-2 draw.

LUXEMBOURG

Former Cameroon U-20 international Yannick Makota Ngale scored a brace for AS Jeunesse Esch in their 3-2 home win against Racing FC Union Luxembourg in the Luxembourg National Division. He opened the scoring at the 7th minute and scored the second goal of the game at the 56th minute.

22 year old Senegalese forward Moussa Seydi scored three times for CS Fola Esch in their 2-4 away win against Una Strassen. He scored their first at the 11th minute. He was on target again at the 59th and 77th minutes to hand his team a precious away win.

BELGIUM

21 year old Nigerian forward David Chidozie Okereke opened the scoring for Club Brugge in their 0-2 away win against Oostende.

DRC forward Paul Jose Mpoku scored a penalty at the 59th minute for Standard Liege but it was not enough at they were beaten 2-1 by 2-1 by St. Truiden.

Cameroon midfielder Frank Boya was on target for Royal Excel Mouscron at the 34th minute in their 2-1 win against Gent.

27 year old Algerian international Idriss Saadi was on target at the 18th minute for Cercle Brugge in their 1-3 loss against Kortrijk.
Nigerian forward Addul Ajagun scored the equalizer for Kortrijk at the 49th minute and Congolese forward Herve Kage scored their third at the 90th minute.

New recruit Saido Berahino has not wasted any time to open his account in the Belgian top flight. The Burundi international scored the second at the 78th minute for Zulte Waregem in their 0-2 away win against Genk.

27 year old Senegalese forward Mamadou Fall scored the first goal for Sporting Charleroi at the 60th minute, in their 2-1 win against Royal Antwerp

In the Belgian First Division B, 22 year old South African forward was the lone goal scorer for Westerlo in 1-0 win against OH Loeuven.

22 year old Nigerian forward Saviour Godwin was on target for Roeselare at the 40th minute in their 1-1 draw at home against Beerchot.

PORTUGAL

25 year old Gambian forward Yusupha Njie was on target for Boavista in their 2-1 win against Aves. He opened the scoring at the 6th minute for Boavista.

SCOTLAND

22 year old Nigerian winger Sheyi Ojo put the icing on the cake for Rangers in their 6-1 demolition of Hibernian in the second day of play in the Scotland Premiership. He scored their sixth goal at the 90th minute.

IRELAND

In the Ireland FAI Cup, 21 year old South African forward BJ Banda scored a brace for Letterkenny Rovers but they still lost 5-2 against UCD.

ICELAND

In the Iceland Urvalsdeild, 23 year old Sierra Leone midfielder Kwame Quee scored the third goal at the 82nd minute for Vikingur Reykjavik in their 3-1 home win against IBV Vestmannaeyjar.

DENMARK

In Match Day 5 of the Danish Superliga, 18 year old Ghanaian midfielder Abu Francis scored the equalizer for FC Nordjaelland in their 2-2 draw against Silkeborg.

There was a brace for 24 year old Guinean forward Sory Kaba for FC Midtjylland in their 0-2 away win against AC Horsens. He opened the scoring at the 45th minute from the spot and grabbed his second at the 53rd minute of the game.

NORWAY

In the Norwegian top flight, 28 year old Gambian forward Muhamed Keita scored twice for Stroemsgodset in their 3-2 win against Vaalerenga. He scored their second goal at the 49th minute and got their third at the 62nd minute.

FINLAND

29 year old Ghanaian forward Ishmael Yartey was on target for KPV in 3-2 away loss to HIFK in the Finland Veikkausliiga. He gave them a two goal advantage which they failed to capitalize on that 44th minute.

21 year old Ghanaian winger Evans Mensah scored the second goal HJK in their 4-0 bashing of FC Lahthi.

CZECH REPUBLIC

22 year old Ghanaian forward Benjamin Tetteh scored his second goal of the season for Sparta Prague in their 4-3 away loss to Mlada Boleslav. He scored their second goal at the 74th minute of the game.

RUSSIA

27 year old Senegalese forward Ablaye Mbengue was on target at the 75th minute for Republican FC Akhmat Grozny in their 1-3 home loss against FC Spartak Moscow. He was sent off for a second yellow card two minutes later.

SERBIA

In the Serbian Super Liga there was a 2-2 draw for FK Napredak Krusevac against FK Partizan. 28 year old Guinea international forward Seydouba Soumah scored the equalizer for FK Partizan at the 66th minute.

Vojvodina ran riots against FK Radnik Surdulica as they comfortably beat them 0-4. Their Nigerian forward Eze Vincent Okeuhie opened the scoring at the 17th minute and provided an assist to Bojan Matic at the 26th minute for their third goal of the game.

HUNGARY

25 year old Nigerian forward Haruna Garba scored the second goal at the 25th minute for Debrecen in their 4-1 home win against Kisvarda FC.

25 year old Niger forward Tijani Amadou Moutari Kalala scored a consolatory goal for Budapest Honved who lost 3-1 away against Paksi FC.

BELARUS

25 year old Manjo born Cameroon forward Hervaine Ferdin Moukam Mekontso and BATE Borisov showed no pity to visiting Energetik-BGU in the Belarus Premier. Moukam scored their third goal at the 27th minute in a 4-1 bashing.

MOLDOVA

Cameroon’s 2017 AFCON winning forward Robert Ndip Tambe has rediscovered his scoring touch. He scored the third goal at the 84th minute for league leaders FC Sheriff Tiraspol in their 0-3 away win against Dinamo-Auto in match day 17 of the Moldova National Division. He has now registered 8 goals in 14 league matches this season.

Cameroon forward Pierre Fabrice Eloundou Ambassa scored a consolatory goal for Speranta who lost 2-1 away to Zimbru.

ESTONIA

22 year old Cameroon midfielder Aime Marcelin Gando Biala scored his eighth goal of the season in 19 appearances for Estonian top flight leaders FCI Levadia Tallinn who defeated Narva Trans 1-3 in Matchday 23 of the Estonian Premium Liiga. The Loum born midfielder scored their third goal at the 48th minute.

CHINA

Henan Jianye earned a 2-1 win at home against Beijin Renhe in match Day 22 of the Chinese Super League. Their top scorer so this season Franck Ohandza played for 90 minutes before making way for his compatriot and teammate Christian Bassogog in what has become a habit for their coach Baoshan Wang. Ohandza had already done the essential with a second goal for his team at the 51st minute to restore a lead they never relinquished till the end of the game.
He has now scored 10 league goals in 20 league appearances this season for Henan Jianye.

Ghanaian international winger Frank Acheampong opened the scoring for Tianjin Teda at the 71st minute in their 2-1 win against Wuhan Zall.

INDONESIA

In the Indonesia Liga 1, Tira-Persibako stayed top of the league with just a point above Bali United after Matchday 13, thanks to a 2-4 away win against Barito Putera. Their 29 year old Cameroon midfielder Louise Essengue Eloumou Parfait scored their second goal in extra time of the first half.
