When Cotonsport of Garoua and EFBC of Douala will descend on the pitch on Saturday, April 10th 2021 for the final of the sixth edition of the Easter cup Patricia BERTHELOT at least 12 players who recently camped with the Under-17 national selection of Cameroon will have stakes.
Cotonsport of Garoua duo Wassou Goue Patient (Tournament’s lead scorer going into the final) and Eric Moursou Jean and EFBC’s Willy Arnold Moutsio, Mohamed Dalbai, Magana Ulrich, Nagida Aboubakar, Halilou Mohammadou,Carlos Noom Balepa, Pagning Yamendjeu Michel (tournament’s deputy lead scorer), Mughe Regis and Nkamga Jean are all of the Under-17 Lions family.
These players have had a telling impact on the performance of their teams so far in the tournament and could decide the outcome of the final.
The players of the Under-17 Lions family can boast of 16 goals amongst themselves in the tournament. Wassou Goue on five goals in four games, Pagning on three goals in four games, Mughe, Carlos Balepa and Mangana all count two goals each while Nagida and Nkamga have also scored once ahead of a second consecutive final between these two teams.
The final in the presence of coach Anicet Mbarga Foe of the Under-17 Lions will have a full team of players with EFBC hoping their players perform to end Cotonsport’s dominance while Cotonsport will count on the defensive know-how of Moursou and the attacking qualities of Wassou Goue to extend their winning run in the final to three editions in a spin.
The final penciled for the Bepanda Omnisport Annex I Stadium in Douala-Cameroon at 3pm local time will be some attraction without fans.
