Nchout Njoya Ajara’s magical strike against New Zealand at the 2019 Women’s FIFA World Cup has been nominated for the 2018/2019 Puskas Award.
The annual award named after Legendary Hungarian striker Ferenc Puskas is a recognition for great goals scored in club and International matches annually.
Ajara’s second of two goals against New Zealand was one of 10 goals were shortlisted by the FIFA technical team for the best goal of the just ended World Cup tournament.
Brazilian Christiana won that award with Ajara’s goal finishing second in the contest.
This time around it is a new competition with more football stars but giving the technical brilliance in Ajara’s strike, the 26 year old Valerenga forward has a huge chance to claim this one.

Ajara is widely considered to be the most performant African player at the last World Cup and her wonderful solo goal against which sent Cameroon into the last 16 after leaving 3 defenders on the floor is considered not just as the greatest goal in the just ended World but one of the greatest World Cup goal of all time.
