TP Mazembe, champions of the Democratic Republic of Congo have announced the death of it’s second vice president Mohamed Kamwanya.

His death was announced Monday evening by the communication unit of the club. The club didn’t state the circumstances leading to his death. During the exile of current club president Moise Katumbi, the deceased Kamwanya was always with the club.

Following the respect of the Muslim tradition, Kamwanya was buried this Tuesday afternoon.

Born in 1955 in Kilwa, DR Congo, Mohamed Kamwanya came to TP Mazembe in 1997. His arrival in the club witnessed an unprecedented success at both national and African level.

Mohamed Kamwanya was part of the TP Mazembe delegation in the 2010 club world cup where the team finished as vice world champions.
