Close sources have told that former Dragon of Yaounde, APEJES of Mfou and Racing Bafoussam forward, Eric Mfonchi Yeyap has died in an accident in Mozambique on Monday.

The former University of Yaounde 1 graduate and multiple goal medal winner in football was expected back in Cameroon this Tuesday.

Mfonchi was supposed to return to Cameroon this Tuesday from Mozambique were he was scheduled to board a flight for home.

The striker had to celebrate to celebrate his wedding this December in Cameroon but those plans have all been canceled by his demise.

Mfonchi played for Dragon between 2010-2013 before moving to APEJES of Mfou were he spent two years and later switched to Racing Bafoussam for the 2015-2016 seasons.

He later played in Ivory Coast and Mozambique before his the end of his life.

He has left behind son, the rest of his family and the football world to mourn him.
