The Volleyball Lionesses traveled to Egypt almost a fortnight ago hoping to print their names on the pyramids, and dear me! Has it been done.
Cameroon seemingly cruised through most of their opponents on their way to regaining the trophy that was handed to them in 2017 on home patch. Their opponents in the finals being Kenya, the greatest in the continent with 9 gold medals had a tough time in the hands of the Lionesses.
It was a very interesting game which required a tie breaker to get the winner after both nations refused the second best position after 3 sets.
After the victory of the Volleyball Lionesses at the end of it all, the boss, Serge Abouem told Kick442.com “We just won the African Volleyball championship. It was very difficult as you saw, I would like to congratulate the girls, they played very well and we think that they have done the job”.
“It is a very good thing to go back to Cameroon with that trophy, we are very proud of what we have done today. Untill the last point I had the believe in them and I was sure that they would win the match. The match was quite difficult but finally I think they did the job and we are very satisfied – we do hope that, we would continue in that way”.
The Volleyball Lionesses now move their tally of gold medals to two in less than 3 years, winning the last two events and showing the rest of the African continent who the masters of the Volleys-courts are.
