The Volleyball Lionesses of Cameroon have continued their recent dominance over their Kenyan counterpart in the last 2 edition of the African Women’s Volleyball Championship.
The Lionesses got of to a very impressive start winning the first 3 points of the first set and lead until their points tally got to 10 points before they were being pegged back.
The girls of coach Jean Rene Akono will then continue their dominance and win the first set 17 points to 25 with an exceptional block acuracy from Stephanie Fotso.
In the the Kenyans got the first point before Cameroon rallied and took the lead by 4 points to 3.
It continued staying close between the two sides as they headed towards both sides but from 18 points each Kenya got to 20 points mark first with Cameroon on 18 points.
The Lionnesses chased and made it 20 points apiece.
Kenya then took the initiative and went on to win the second set by 27 points to 25.
The 3rd set was another close contest between the two sides fought it down to the wire but Cameroon did enough to win it by 25 sets to 23.
It went into tie break Kenya started better and at some point in time they even had a 14 to 8 lead over Cameroon but the Lionesses kept on pushing with an inspirational performance from captain Nana Christelle whose spikes were creating all sorts of problems for the Kenyans.
The Lionesses will fight back and equal the score at 18 all before the Kenyans took the initiative again to go on and win the 4th set by 25-23.
In the next set the Kenyans again started strongly winning the first 3 points but Cameroon rallied again and even things up and go to win it by 16 points to 14.
At the end Cameroon beat Kenya again and retained their title.
