Zimbabwe and Tanzania defeated Malawi and Uganda 1-0 and 1-2 to advance to the first round of the under twenty women world cup qualifiers this Saturday.
The Zimbabweans scored late at home to defeat the Malawian ladies by a slim 1-0 win in the second leg of the preliminary round.
The winning goal came in the 74th minute through young starlet,Talent Bizeki who put the ball at the back of the net with many bodies in the box.
The first leg had ended one all at the Kamuzu Stadium a fortnight ago giving Zimbabwe the advantage as they played today at the Barbourfields Stadium in Zimbabwe.
In the other match, Tanzania defeated Uganda to move to the first round of the under twenty women world cup qualifiers.
The first goal of the game didn’t come until the 48th minute when the home side, Uganda scored through Phiona Nabbumba at the Star times Stadium.
Diana Msewa however restored parity for Tanzania ten minute later to make it one all and return the advantage to the away side.
Opa Clement broke the hearts of the home side as she scored the second goal for Tanzania to put the game at 1-2 and 2-4 on aggregate in 68th minute.
The goal proved decisive as it ended 1-2 at the star times Stadium and 2-4 on aggregate as Uganda is eliminated.
