Tanzania at the Dar es salam Stadium defeated Uganda in their first leg match two goals to one on Sunday.

A brace by Aisha Masaka gave the Tanzanian girls a win that may prove vital in the second leg.

Ugandan girls had opened score through Fauzia Najjemba in the twenty third minutes before Masaka equalised in the first half and later scored the winner in the second half.

A shot by Najjemba was fumbled by the Ugandan goalkeeper putting the away side in the lead.

The home team didn’t lay low as number ten player Aisha struke the ball from a distance with her left foot and another slip by the Tanzanian goalkeeper brought the game at par.

A defensive slip in the second half, afforded Masaka another chance to score a brace. She beat her marker to put the ball beyond the reach of the defender and goalkeeper to give the home team the win.

The loss is Ugandan’s first the Under 17 national team has suffered since its formation last year. It is also the first time, they have conceded more than one goal in a game.
