Nasarawa United players celebrate a goal in an NPFL match

Nasarawa United defeated Enugu Rangers two goals to one in an Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) rescheduled game today at the lafia Stadium.

The Solid Miners came from a goal down to take the vital points against the Flying Antelope.

Enugu Rangers striker, Israel Abia drew the first blood after four minutes into the game.

The former Lobi Stars’ striker scored through a direct freekick to take his goal tally to nine in the league.

However, the home side got a penalty two minutes later
after Isaac Loute upended Ohanachom in the box and the referee pointed at the spot.

Abubakar Lawal made no error from the spot as he drew United level in the contest.

The intensity for the home side increased after the equaliser as they got another goal in the twenty-ninth minutes through Lawal but it was ruled out for offside.

The two teams continued to seek to score with the home side looking more deadly. The first half ended one all.

After seven minutes played in the second half, the home side took the lead for the first time in the game to the admiration of the fans.

Full-back Abdullahi Abubakar overlapped before hitting a low cross which was deflected back to him and he gracefully fired in the rebound from a tight angle.

The lead didn’t stop the Miners from dominating proceedings as they mount more pressure for goals for consolidation.

However, Rangers almost cause a scare as Ibrahim Olawoyin nearly drew level in ninety plus three minutes of the game.

The game ended 2-1 as Nasarawa United move out of the bottom three to move to fourteenth on the log.
