League leaders Plateau United travel to the east to trade tackles with seventeenth placed side, Heartland FC of Owerri in match day seven of the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL).

The tie sees two sides that need to win. One to keep the momentum of finishing among the top teams or possibly winning the league. On the other hand, the other needs to win to leave the relegation waters and give their season a boost for a better place finish.

Abu Mikaba tinkered side go to Owerri on the back of their goalless draw against Kano Pillars in Jos and will look to put that behind them as they continue their unbeaten run.

For a Heartland side that have only managed to get a win in six matches, coach Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side needs to win to take the pressure off their coach and make the claim of their status as one of the teams with rich history in the league.

In other matches, Sunshine Stars host a struggling Nasarawa side looking to capitalise on the back to back home advantage in Akure.

Kano Pillars seem to have a new rise in confidence with the win away against Akwa Starlet. The return of their captain, Rabiu Ali and his immediate impact in the last game make it look like the Kano side is back to what we used to know them for.

Kastina United will host MFM FC of Lagos. The two teams have eight points but are separated by goal difference which sees MFM ahead. Hence, making the match a mouth watering tie.

Abia Warriors play Akwa Starlet at home and looks to move above their opponent who are two points ahead of them. A win for the warriors takes them to twelve points with Akwa staying at eleven points.

Ifeanyi Ubah host second placed side Wikki Tourist who have been wonderful so far. Ifeanyi Ubah with two wins, two draws and two loses have their hands full against a Tourist side that has only lost a game this season.

High scoring Lobi side travel to Delta to play Warri Wolves. The Wolves side is not having it good as they are placed fourteenth on the log and a loss will only compound their woes. Lobi with only one loss this season and a game in hand are on a four-match without a loss streak and will seek to continue that run.

Enyimba and Rangers Int’l matches against Rivers United and Jigawa Golden Stars have been postponed due to their continental engagement.
