Rangers Int’l of Enugu and Wikki Tourist of Bauchi shared the spoils in their match day eight encounter of the Nigerian Professional Football League at the Bauch Stadium today.

Rangers who had been on a poor run of form recently got their first point after two match losing streak.

Wikki Tourist on the other hand lost their last game to Ifeanyi Ubah. The point takes them back to second temporarily.

It was Rangers who got the game started, arguably the better side in the half as they created chance upon chance.

They finally got a deserved lead in the thirty-eight minutes when fullback Emmanuel Nwokeji headed into the centre of the net from an Ikechukwu Ibenegbu inch-perfect free kick.

Wikki Tourist looked to peg back Rangers but the first half ended 1-0.

In the second half, Wikki Tourist sought to get the equaliser as they mounted the pressure.

Rangers Int’l finally sunk to the pressure as Idris Guda was fouled by Traore Issif inside Rangers box for a spot kick.

Idris Guda finished well from the spot kick to hand Wikki the equaliser.

It may not have been the result Rangers wanted as they are still in the relegation zone but the performance was something to cheer according Ibenegbu.

“I must confess that we played very well in the game against Wikki Tourists. We are gradually getting our rhythm back.” He told Rangers media team.

Prior to the game, Rangers Int’l had only lost once in their last five Matches away from home against Wikki Tourist FC in an NPFL game.
