Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC scored late to get a 1-1 draw against Sunshine Stars of Akure in today’s match day nine fixture.
Adeyinka Najeem scored at the dead of nine minutes plus two minutes added time to leave the Akure fans unhappy.
The game seemed out of reach of MFM and Sunshine looked to be taking their consecutive three points after last week’s win at Adamawa United but the goal ended that dream.
In form striker, Isreal Abia scored his sixth goal of the season in the 64th minutes to give Sunshine the lead before the equaliser.
The Southern derby didn’t fail as the end to end play came on in full length in the first half saw the home looking more deadly to score but it ended goalless at the half.
The second half began with much intensity from the Akure boys who mounted pressure with the likes of Omaka, Isreal and Fuad.
The coach had made two changes in quick minutes and the whole momentum was with Sunshine.
They finally utilise their chances as Israel Abia fired into an empty net after keeper Jerry Isaac fumbled an initial attempt.
MFM responded with changes as coach brings in Akanni Elijah and Dennis Obasi for Justice Zacariah and Muyiwa Balogun.
As the progressed with each team getting the better of the other, finally changes were made.
Sunshine looked strong to keep the slim win but got a heartbreaker at the nick of time when the Church Boys got a late goal from goal mouth melee.
It was Adeyinka Nojeem who capitalise on the error to equal the scores of the game.
