It is one of those match days you can’t wait to have a feel of as the calibre of the fixtures make you want to anticipate a cracker in most games today.

Match day fifteen fixtures of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) see third place Rivers United squad up against first place Lobi Stars of Makurdi while second place Plateau United who were top a couple of weeks ago have it hot against Sunshine Stars of Akure.

Lobi Stars’ top spot looks to be threatened as they travel to Rivers to play a Rivers United that has not at home this season with five wins and a draw.

Nevertheless, Rivers United will be wary of the threat the Makurdi team pose as they have been good both home and away with eight wins and three draws even though the two matches they have lost were away games. The two teams go into the match with the top position on their minds.

At Warri, Warri Wolves will file out against the flying antelope of Rangers. The two teams are have different narrative this season this far. As it has been a topsy turvy situation for the Wolves while the flying antelopes have refused to fly.

With Warri Wolves in twelfth place, a win to take them to the top tenth will be the desire while for Rangers a win is needed to leave the bottom zone.

Plateau United after their disappointing goalless draw against Akwa United, will try to get a good result against Sunshine Stars of Akure who sixth on the log.

The Akure team have played well this season especially at home and don’t like are ready to give too much respect to the former league leaders. Plateau United must win if they won’t to go back to the zenith of the league.

Enyimba goes against an Heartland side who they have not beaten in the last five matches as they go for their second win since coach Fatai Osho took over.

Katsina United and Kano Pillars in a northern derby is another mouth watering tie as the Pillars side after dropping points at home against Warri Wolves will try to upset their northern neighbours at home.

Akwa United who are on a high after six matches without a loss, look good o beat Kwara United who have been poor away this season at the Uyo Stadium.

Dakkada International will fancy their chances against Nasarawa United. The side are fourth on the log and will seek to capitalise on any slip by the top three with a win to move among top three places.

Adamawa United will seek to end their consecutive losing their as they play Wikki Tourist in the presence of their fans. Wikki Tourist who opened its stadium after 18 months got beaten by Lobi Stars and will like to get a good result against Adamawa United.

MFM of Lagos are at home and will seek to win at home against Jigawa Golden Stars after their weekend loss away; a situation that has become usual to the Lagos team.
