Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) club Abia Warriors of Umuahia on Monday announced that they have relieved Coach Emmanuel Deutsche of his duties as head coach after back to back poor results by the Umuahia team.

Following recent poor performances in the on going Nigeria Professional Football League particularly after the team lost scandalously to Enyimba FC in the matchday 20 game played at the Okigwe Township stadium, hence the exit of the tactician.

In a Press statement signed by the Club’s Secretary, Mr. Esiaba Ebere, management said, losing three matches in a row, and conceding nine goals in the process does not portray the qualities of an ambitious team like Abia Warriors.

However, in a conflicting news, the gaffer has stated that he left the club due to unpaid salaries which has being a lingering issue.

While speaking with Nigerian journalist, Emeka Dennar, Deutsch stated that he is leaving the Umuahia-based NPFL club due to ‘unpaid bonuses’.

According to the report, the Cameroonian is yet to receive a bonus since the commencement of the current campaign in November.

Meanwhile, the club management has directed the Cameroonian born gaffer to hand over the club properties in his possession to the Secretary and wished him the very best of luck in his future endeavor.

Chief coach, Willy Udube has been directed to take over for the meantime.
