The Nigerian male senior handball team lost their first classification match against Guinea 30-40 on Monday.

Nigeria lost to Guinea in the first classification match 30-24.

The first half had ended 16-11 as the Nigerian team tried to come back as previous matches but later lose by slim margins at the end.

Reuben Alexis won the player match award at the end of the game.

The Nigerian male senior team had failed to qualify to the next round and as a result failed to get an Olympic ticket.

Consequently, the team had to play the classification round to determine their rankings at the end of the championship.

They play Kenya who lost 27-26 against Libya in the next their classification match.

The Nigerian male senior handball team had come last at the 2018 edition of the African Handball Championship.
