Nigeria male handball in ltheir opening match, lost with 6 points to Angola in the opening Group B match of the
2020 Africa Men Handball Championship at Tunis, Tunisia.

Muachissengue Geovany of Angola received the man of the match award after a 30 to 24 scoreline.

The senior male handball team started the match slowly against Angola losing the first half 17-10.

The team came back in second half with a 14-13 win but it was not enough to undo the damage.

The loss puts Nigeria in last position after the other teams in the group; Libya and Gabon played a 22-22 draw.

The team face Gabon in a must win game on Friday as they seek to get their tournament running.

The event serves as qualification for the Tokyo2020 and the 2021 IHF Men’s World Championship in Egypt.
