Ghana on Sunday got a two nil win over Liberia to kickoff their qualification campaign of the under seventeen women world cup.
Two second half goals from Ophelia Serwaa and Salamatu Abdulai sunk the Liberia under seventeen women at the
Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah scores in the 63rs minutes while
Salamatu Abdulai scored in the 87th minutes.
The black maidens had been given a bye at the preliminary round with Cameroon and Nigeria which exempted them from the round.
The win at Monrovia means the Ghanian team has put a leg in the next round of the qualifiers.
Three teams are to qualify from each bracket. The first bracket has: Botswana, South Africa, Zambia and Morocco.
The second bracket has Cameroon, Sao Tome and Principle, Tanzania and Uganda.
The last bracket has Nigeria, Guinea, Ghana and Liberia.
The second leg matches take place from 13th to 15th of March, 2020.
