The Black Maidens of Ghana were without mercy on Saturday as they gave Liberia a 8-0 thumping to qualify to the last round of the women’s world cup qualifiers.
After a sweet two nil win at the Antoinette Tubman Sports Stadium, the Maidens scored eight unreplied goals to end the tie 10-0 on aggregate.
As early as the 7th minute, the Ghanian ladies were three nil up preparing the ground for a goal fest at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A brace from Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah and a goal from Salamatu Abdulai gave the home side a comfortable lead.
In 13 minutes, the Ghanaian were five goals better than the away side as Ophelia Serwaa scored her second brace.
The first half ended 6-0 as Elizabeth Oppong put her name in the scorer’s list before the end of the half.
By the 66th minute of the game, the Ghanian ladies had wrapped up the match.
Alice Sarpong’s penalty and a Tracy Twum goals sealed things up for a Black Maidens’ sterling win.
