Ghana’s consistency during the African Cup of nations for Amputee has eventually landed them a final spot, against Liberia. The West African nation stood their grounds all through the competition, conceding just a goal which was in a semi-final battle against Angola, on Thursday December 2, 2021.
Though often pitted to tough opponents (Angola, Kenya, Egypt, Nigeria), Ghana’s amputees found enough to better their opponents, including defending champions of the World Cup and AFCON for Amputees Angola. Ghana stopped Angola following their a 3#1 victory on Thursday.
In the other Semi-final game, host nation Tanzania were eliminated by Liberia. The Liberians to an extend were seen as under dogs, but they will be playing the finals. Liberia defeated Tanzania 1#0 to cause a final against Ghana.
Ghana white washed Kenya 4#0 during the knock-out stage. They beat Egypt 3#0 and Nigeria 4#0 to lead group D. Ghana has the best defense so far in the tournament.
Cameroon’s group C mates Liberia have been on a good run, beating both Cameroon and Gambia to top Group C with six points. During the knockout stage, they overpowered Morocco 2#1 to join Ghana in the final.
