Mohammed Salah on Saturday night put his name in the record books after he became the first Egyptian player to win the European Champions league as Liverpool beat Tottenham in the final.
Salah who was named the African footballer of the year back to back this year, won his first champions league trophy in Madrid last night.His goal from the penalty spot helped his team to their sixth Champions league title.
The Egyptian star who is one of Egypt’s exports abroad is ranked amongst the best players in the world and touted by some to win the World best player after his heroics in the last two seasons.
The Liverpool star scored the first goal through a penalty that set his team to their sixth triumph in the European elite club football competition before Kenyan born Divock Origi scored the second goal to seal the 2-0 win for Liverpool.
Salah will be Egypt’s starman when the continent focus in Egypt in just over a fortnight when the 32nd edition of the biggest football competition in Africa kicks off.
