Egyptian premier league side Pyramids FC, have parted ways with French tactician Sebastien Serge Louis Desabre due to a poor run of results.
The former Cotonsport, ASEC Mimosa and Esperance coach was appointed lead trainer of Pyramids FC on July 8, 2019, but now leaves his post after just five months in charge.
Pyramids FC has suffered back_to_back defeats to Zamalek SC and El Gouna and currently occupy the seventh position on the league’s table with 12 points. They have won three games, drawn three, lost two, scoring just six goals and conceding seven.
Defeats against Zamelek and El Gouna, were too hard for the club’s hierarchy to take and marked the beginning of an end for the 43_year_old French tactician. They lost 2#0 away to Zamalek on match day six, before succumbing 2#3 to El Gouna. Just six points separate Pyramids FC from league leaders Al Ahly and just five points from second placed Al Ittihad and four adrift of third place Al Mokawloon.
Pyramids will face 12 placed Al Masry on Saturday December 21, 2019, for match day nine action. Pyramids FC however are unbeaten in the CAF confederation cup this season with a recent 6#0 bashing of Nouadhibou still fresh in the minds of their supporters.
Sebastien Desabre’s records with Pyramids FC are not really bad as many may think. In 21 games since he took over, Pyramids FC has recorded 14 wins, four draws and three defeats.
Sebastien Desabre has a chunk of experience in African football, following his time with the likes of Cotonsport of Garoua in Cameroon, ASEC Mimosa of Ivory coast, Esperance of Tunis, Recreativo do Libolo, JS Saoura, Wydad AC. Before taking duties as coach of Pyramids FC, he was lead trainer of Uganda during the 2019 AFCON in Egypt. Pyramids was his second Egyptian club, after he previously managed Ismaly in 2017.
