The Egyptian Football Association, EFA has appointed former Al-Ahly gaffer Hossam El-Badry as the new headcoach of Egypt’s National football team.
The 59-year-old tactician will replace Javier Aguirre who was sacked after the Pharaoh’s were knockout of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations by South Africa at the round of 16.
Hossam El-Badry has previously served as headcoach of Egypt’s U-23 National team.
He had hinted in July he would be honored to accept the top job if he received the offer

“Being among the candidates to coach Egypt is amazing, it has always been a dream of mine” -El-Badary said on kingfut.
Now that his greatest wish has been answered by the Egyptian Football Association, the former CAF Champions League winner has a daunting task to revamped Egypt’s national football team ahead of forthcoming competitions.
Egypt finished 6th in Africa on FIFA’s latest rankings.
Hossam El-Badry began his managerial career as an assistant manager to Ahly coach Manuel Jose.
The Egyptian born won two Egyptian Premier League titles with Al-Ahly an Egyptian cup and the CAF Champions league.
Hossam first assignment shall be to qualify Egypt for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar among others.
