29 year old Cameroonian center back, Paul Gravier Abouem Maya, has joined Moroccan top tier side Chabab RIF Al Hoceima on a two years deal.

The deal has seen Abouem linking up once again with Denis Ngweni Ndasi Kadiang, who last week put pen to paper for a two years deal with Chabab. Abouem and Ndasi were teammates at Cotonsport in the 2018, and there is a possibility seeing the two giant defenders, forming a formidable center back pairing at Chabab Rif Al Hoceima.

Born in Bafia in the center region of Cameroon on Jan 29, 1990, the 1.87 meters center back, who can also operate at right back, enjoyed most of his time in the Cameroon top flight, with Cosmos of Bafia, before moving to Union De Mouvement Sportive of Loum, where he won the league one championship in 2016.

He then moved to Cotonsport of Garoua, where he won the league one championship in 2018. Abouem Maya will then move out for trials in Northern Africa.

Abouem has a bulk of experience playing football at the continental level, both in the CAF Champions league and the African Nations championship, where he was part of Cameroon’s squad during the competition that took place in Morocco, in 2017.

Chabab Rif Al Hoceima finished 13th in the Botola league last season, and the coming in of Abouem Maya and Ngweni Ndasi, is a great boast to Saïd Chiba’s side.
