The head coach of the intermediate Lions of Cameroon, Martin Ndtoungou Mpile and his first assistant, Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso, have equalled their own quarter finals record in the African Nations Championship, CHAN.
The head coach Martin Ndtoungou Mpile was coach of the intermediate Lions of Cameroon when Rwanda hosted the competition in 2016. The Lions were eliminated at the quarter finals by Cote D’Ivoire.
On his part, Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso was coach of Cameroon in 2011 in Sudan and were eliminated by Angola still at the quarter finals.
Both men as coach and first assistant have again guided Cameroon to their third quarter finals.
What next? Will the intermediate Lions be eliminated again just as in the other editions were they reached the quarter finals?
Coach Martin Ndtoungou Mpile in a post match press conference told reporters that, no two matches are the same and they have a completely different team from that of 2011 in Sudan and 2016 in Rwanda. With these and others, he is confident they can go through to the semi finals.
Also, the additional expertise of the coach of Cameroon league one champions, PWD Social Club of Bamenda, David Pagou, they is plenty of coaching experience to guide the lions through.
The intermediate Lions of Cameroon will play against the winners of Group B in the ongoing Total African Nations Championship. The match will take place on Saturday at the Japoma Stadium in Douala.
