Fatma Samoura, secretary general of the World Football Governing Body, FIFA is expected in Yaounde, Cameroon on Friday February 5, 2021 where she is expected to watch the final of the 6th edition of the Total CHAN 2020 on February 7, 2021.
She is also expected to hold working sessions with officials of African Football.
Though coming for a sports visit and considering the relationship between FIFA and CAF, Fatma Samoura may hold working sessions with CAF officials.
Her visit may also be an opportunity for FIFA to clarify issues relating to the decision of CAS on the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT.
On January 15, the Court of arbitration for sports anulled the election of the FECAFOOT executive committee of October 10, 2018 and FIFA later giving the organs of FECAFOOT the chance to continue with the activities of the federation until New elections are conducted.
Invited by the then interim president of CAF Constant Omari, Fatma Samoura will be accompanied by Italian Cinzia Miotto.
Fatma Samoura’s visit is coming after that of the FIFA president, Gianni Infantino who was present at the opening ceremony of the CHAN.
