The father to potential indomitable lions and Premier league star, Ibrahim Amadou have revealed the untold story of how he has been abandoned by his son since the age of five. In an exclusive interview with kick442.com, the father disclosed that the son was taken to Europe by the mother at the age of five.
“She was just 17 years old when we had our child Ibrahim Amadou, I was also very young. I did everything that time for the child”, Amadou father of the former Lille player said.
But after some time, the woman travelled and later came back for the child and took him away.
He disclosed that when the woman took away the child, he was still buying things and sending to the child but after some time, the woman said he wasn’t taking care of the child again.
“The child was in Europe, I was making efforts and sending him gifts. After four years, the child was now at the Nancy Training Centre in France”.
Despite that, Communication between Amadou and his son Ibrahim Amadou was still very strong. “At 16 years, he was always asking me my playing position when I was young and I told him. Infact he was always calling me”, Ibrahim Amadou’s father told kick442.com.
According to the father, the son stopped calling him. “She (mother) called me one day and said my family members and I have gone to a native doctor ‘marabout’ to make the child loves us more. She asked me not to call her again”, he said
For sometime, the father said he tried to make her see reasons with him that he can’t take go to any shrine with the child’s name but it wasn’t fruitful.
“That is where the problem is. My son, Ibrahim Amadou knows that I am here. Even if you see him, you will discover that he is a direct replica of me. So that is how he left me till date”, the father concluded.
The former Lille captain, FC Sevilla, Leganes midfielder ended the season with Norwich city in the English Premier League.
