The head coach of Union De Mouvement Sportive of Loum, Omarou Sokba, is aiming to win the first ever Cameroon super cup, in his debut encounter in the dugout for the league one champions.
Sokba was appointed head coach of UMS on September 30, 2019, replacing Charlemagne Mbongo. The former APEJES gaffer will have the opportunity to make his first appearance in the dugouts, on Sunday, when UMS clashes with stade Renard in Bafoussam, in the super cup encounter.
The Cameroon super cup is in it’s first edition, and coincides with Sokba’s first game with UMS, the 38 year_old is hoping to be the first ever coach to win the super cup.
“We want to make history, by being the first Cameroonian club to win the super cup. It is a local Derby between two teams from the mungo division. It is going to be a difficult game, but our objectives is to clinch the trophy”, said Sokba.
UMS is just the second club in Sokba’s coaching career, and he will be counting on close to five of his former players at APEJES (Dande Junior, Tombi, Brice Owona, Ekwalla Ebongue, Zibi Ekane), who are now with UMS, to secure a win over stade Renard on Sunday.
Sokba spent eight years at APEJES of Mfou, guiding from the center regional championship, to the top tier, winning the Cameroon cup in 2016. He now targets more success with current Cameroon league one champions.
