Union De Mouvement sportive of Loum and Stade Renard of Melong, will clash this Sunday October 13, 2019, in the first ever Cameroon Super cup game.

UMS are winners of the 2019 Cameroon league one championship, while Stade Renard are Cameroon cup winners. The two sides from the Mungo division will meet in a local Derby, with the desire to enter the history books, as the first winners of the Cameroon Super League.


The two sides will be meeting for the fourth time this year, given that they were all in Pool B, during the first phase of the Cameroon league one championship. UMS won 2#nil in Loum, thanks to two penalties from Raymond Fotso and Willy Stephane Namedji, but Stade Renard won the return leg in Melong1#0. The two sides again met on the 18 of May 2019, in the title playoffs, where UMS won 1#0.

Sunday’s game will be the eighth direct Confrontation between UMS and Stade Renard, since the latter got promotion to Cameroon’s top tier championship. In their Last seven meetings, UMS has moved away two wins, while Stade Renard has recorded just one win. Four other games between the two sides, have ended on a parity.

Both sides have not played competitive football for over a month now, since they were eliminated from the CAF competitions by AS Vita Club and DC Motema Pembe. The two sides have however engaged a series of friendly games, with Stade Renard recording a 3#1 win over Union of Douala this week.


The super cup will be an opportunity for new players to make their debuts for the two sides.

For UMS of Loum, eyes will be on new comers like Din Guillaume, Yannick Ekwalla Ebongue and Brice Owona. Din Guillaume played an active part in UMS’ short campaign in the CAF champions league this season, as he played both the home and away games against AS Vita club.

On the side of Stade Renard, recent additions like Simo Berteau, Christian Tchawa, and goalkeeper Cedric Djomo, will be in competition to making their debuts. Herve Eloundou Ngono also joined the team at the end of last season, and even featured in the CAF confederations cup.


The two coaches, Herman Omarou Sokba and Bertin Ebwelle, are in their first seasons for the Mungo clubs. Sunday’s game will be Oumarou Sokba’s first game in the dugouts for UMS, since he ended his eight years stay with APEJES and the 38_year_old tactician made it clear that he wants to make history, winning the first ever Cameroon super cup.

On the other side Bertin Ebwelle will bring in all the experience he has gathered in many clubs across Cameroon.


Bafoussam Omnisport, host ground for Sunday’s game

The Bafoussam Omnisport stadium will be the host venue for this blockbuster encounter. The stadium is one of the stadia to host the 2020 African Nations championship, and Sunday’s game is just a perfect opportunity to Start the build up. With its natural turf, the arena will be in perfect for the two sides to develop their game.


Mbelle Mbelle will go down in history, as the first referee to handle a super cup match.
