Some 42 licensed players for the 2019/2020 season of North West regional league side, Rainbow FC have received good items from the management of the team. The food items were distributed to the players Tuesday July 28, 2020 at the club headquarters in Bamenda.

Since the suspension of the various championships and the cancellation of the regional leagues, players of the amateur leagues were abandoned to themselves with no assistance.

Recently, FECAFOOT handed over Covid-19 gifts to 20 players of each regional league club.

To Mr Yoye Blaise, Team Manager of Rainbow FC, the gifts given by FECAFOOT were not enough for all his players reason why the management of Rainbow FC decided to add items for the benefit all their players.

“I reminded the players that Covid-19 is real and that they should continue to respect the barrier measures put in place by the government of Cameroon and World Health Organization, WHO”, Yoye Blaise said.

Each player went home with 5kg of rice, 4 cubes of bathing soap, a packet of Maggi, 2 litres of vegetable oil and 2 sardines.

This gesture from Rainbow FC should reawaken other club presidents who have have abandoned their players since the championship ended. Some of these players are yet to receive their match bonuses and other allowances owed them before the abrupt end of the league.

Prior to the abrupt end of the championship, Rainbow FC was top of Group B and was favorite to qualify for the regional mini-interpools.
