Indomitable lionesses captain, Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene, has rewarded the best actors in women’s football in Cameroon, during her award night dubbed, the OG7 Awards.

The award night that took place at the Hotel La Falaise in Yaoundé in the night of Saturday December 07, 2019, is organized by the “Association Terre Promise De Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene”, and was aimed at rewarding the talents that distinguished themselves in the various categories of women’s football in Cameroon, during the 2018_2019 season.

Some of winners of this year’s edition of award included the likes of Tabe Brenda, who emerged top scorer in the women’s Division two, while in the books of Lekie FC.

Vision sport’s captain, Tim Shalom Makoma clinched the prize of the best player in division last year, as she helped her team gain promotion to the top tier. Other awards included that of the best coach in Division two, won by former vision sports trainer Fang Fidel, while coach Kpoumié Oudou of Louves MINPROFF won the best coach in Division one. The women’s Division one best player award went to Adrienne Mekuko of AWA FC, while Louves MINPROFF’s Flora Kameni bagged the top scorer award, just like her teammate NGO Esse Marina who won the best upcoming player award, while Marie Gorety went home with the best referee award.

The award night took place under the watchful eyes of the donor, Aboudi Onguene and a host of her teammates of the Cameroon national women’s team, like Gael Enganamouit, Nchout Ajara, Augustine Ejangue, amongst others. Top football personalities in the country like former indomitable lionesses coach and currently ANAFOOT Boss, Carl Enow Ngatchou, the president of the Cameroon women’s league, madam Celine Eko and her vice Asta Yvonne alongside one of Cameroon’s greatest footballer, Albert Roger Milla, also answered present.

Apart from handing the prizes to those that distinguished themselves in course of last season, she also offered a complete set of Jerseys each and balls to 15 clubs (12 that took part in the championship last season, plus the three that recently got promoted).

The award is part of her drive to encourage the growth of women’s football in the country, where she started her career before reaching top level, where she now represents the colours of CSKA Moscow at club level.

O.G stands for Onguene Gabrielle, while the 7, represents her famous shirt number with the Cameroon women’s national team.
