Ahead of the start of the 2021/2022 football season in Cameroon, elite one and two clubs in the North West region, some regional league clubs, and a divisional League club are set to take part in a pre-season tournament dubbed “Bamenda Pre-season Solidarity Tournament organized by some football promoters in the region.
The pre-season tournament which is the first of its kind to take place in Bamenda will see the participation of eight teams.
According to information from the organizers of the tournament, the eight teams have been paired in two groups of four teams each.
In Pool A, Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda will play against Rangers FC Bafut (pending confirmation), Hilltop Strikers, and Bafmeng United.
In Pool B, PWD Social Football club of Bamenda will battle it out with Foncha Street FC, Rainbow FC, and Options Sport of Bamenda.
The top teams of each group shall proceed to play in the finals.
To the organizers, the pre-season tournament has the objective of putting the players in competitive mode before the start of their respective championships.
The organizers at the end of the tournament shall offer financial and material support to the teams.
The tournament which is expected to run from February 4th, to 15th 2022 shall take place at the Big Mankon School field in Bamenda.
