Coach Nkabyo Martin

Sports writer, Cameroon.

Yong sports Academy of Bamenda suffered their sixth defeat of the season on Sunday afternoon in Mbankomo, against Tonnerre Kalara club of Yaoundé.

It has been a difficult start of the season to coach Nkabyo Martin and his boys, who currently sit 17th on the league’s table with 12 points recorded in 12 games. They have suffered six defeats, three wins and three draws.

The latest defeat against TKC is a bitter pill to swallow for the yellow “submarines of Bamenda” and coach Nkabyo Martin says it is time to do the checks and balances.

“I think it is important that we do the diagnosis and try to find out what is not moving. We created chances but we were not realistic”, said the tactician.

He continued” maybe we should look for reasons why we are not doing the right things at the right time. Is it because we have players who are too young and too naive? We will go back home and try to examine the situation and maybe take some serious decisions “.

After giving up a two goal lead against Panthere last week, the defeat against TKC came to add more fire to the hot sit where coach Nkabyo founds himself right now, but he seems to be ready for any decisions that might come in the aftermath of this defeat.

“YOSA is bigger than any individual. I didn’t come to YOSA to stay here eternally and now if the results are not coming, it means strong decisions have to be taken”.

“If it is the coach that has to be changed, we are going to change the coach. If that’s going to help the team move forward, that’s what’s important. Yong Sports Academy does not deserve the position they are occupying now. So we go back home and have a meeting and the management will take the right decisions”.

He however had a message to YOSA fans. “They are disappointed again today. We all feel terrible each time we go for good results and we don’t produce the results. I feel they are not happy, it’s normal but they understand that they have a team that can pick results. Like I said decisions are going to be taken and they can be sure that their team is not going to be relegated “.

YOSA will next play two home games against Union sportive of Douala and Bamboutos of Mbouda, before traveling back to Yaoundé to play Eding sport of the Lekie.
