Cameroon’s international and Valerenga attacker, Nchout Njoya Ajara says she hopes to win the ballon d’or one day.
Nchout Njoya Ajara was speaking to kick442.com this morning in Yaounde, Cameroon shortly after the indomitable lionesses had their last training session before their Tokyo 2020 qualifiers against Ethiopia, the match will be played on Tuesday at the Yaounde Omnisport Stadium.
“Well the ballon d’or is a beautiful recognition. If CAF gives me that, it’s prove that I’m working very hard”, Ajara said.
Asked about her goal that was shortlisted among the top ten goals, Ajara says “it wasn’t chosen by mistake, I think if it’s among the 10 best goals, it’s merited because it was chosen by FIFA experts“.
Ajara plays for Norwegian club Vålerenga since the start of the season. In the Cameroon National team, Ajara played at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She was also part of the national team at the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She was capped for all four matches in the 2015 World Cup, and scored a goal against Japan. During the 2019 World Cup, she scored the team’s only two goals in their only group win that led them to the round of 16.
