17_year_old midfielder, Nchindo John Bosco, grabbed headlines in PWD’s 2#1 win over Canon sportive of Yaoundé in Mbankomo on Thursday.
The young ball playing midfielder did not only score the two goals that gave his side the win, but played an instrumental role, in linking up the defense with the attack. Coach David Pagou started Nchindo in a deeper midfield role, alongside U23 lions Midfielder, Louiz Mbah, and the pair bossed the midfield, as they won all the duels and cutoff all offensives from Canon.
Nchindo John Bosco was making his first start in the league for PWD, despite having made some cameos last season. His two goals at the 31st and the 70th minutes, were also his first goals in the top flight and the midfielder was overjoyed.
“I feel very happy because our coach tolds us to fight till the end. I scored two goals and I can only say thank you lord who gave me the energy for this performance today”, said John Bosco.
Nchinda had the most interceptions made by any player on the pitch. His good reading of the game gave captain Ndzana and Ngede Ngede all sorts of problems in Canon’s center defense axis. His positioning and good run to finish up from Nelo Kevin’s cross, was telling of why man fans picked him as the Man of the Match. But Nchindo attributes his performance to determination. ” All I had in my mind was determination and self confidence. When I entered the field, I tried to get my first and second pass right “
The former captain of Ebiadino is looking forward to improving on his form, and playing a crucial role for his side this season. He added “On Sunday against UMS, I will try to improve so that I can reach 100%, so that maybe I can score more goals”.
His performance did not only attracted the attention of the crowd, but also won praises from his coach, David Pagou. “ I have confidence in him, so I told him go and play your game as you know. I was relaxed and played, scored two goals, it is really good for him and the team as a whole“, Pagou said of the youngster.
Nchindo John Bosco will hope to continue with his fine firm, when UMS comes visiting on Sunday, before a regional derby against YOSA next week.
