Joshua Osih’s position as the second vice President of the Cameroon Football federation will be reinstated.
Osih was voted second vice president of FECAFOOT on December 12, 2018, the same day Seidou Mbombo Njoya was given the confidence to manage the affairs of Cameroon football. Coincidentally, Osih is also a member of parliament in Cameroon, thereby accumulating two public offices.
Osih had 30 days to make a decision, either to leave his position as parliamentarian or as FECAFOOT’s second vice, a decision which he has never made till today.
Since the elections of December 2018, the 50 year old Joshua Nambangi Osih has never represented FECAFOOT in any official outing. But now FECAFOOT’s boss Seidou Mbombo Njoya has revealed that Osih’s position as FECAFOOT’s vice President is not affected. “The text indicates that he had 30 days to make his choice, but he never did that, so after that, we considered that he has made his choice, so we were no longer associating him in our activities”, said Njoya.
He continued “now the text that we submitted to FIFA, made us to change the disposition, which FIFA found unjust, because incompatibility is supposed to affect just the president and not the vice. So consequently, that text was changed“.
So Joshua Osih can now regain his place as FECAFOOT’s second vice President, though Seidou Mbombo Njoya insist that it can only be done during their next session, upon the approval of executive committee.
The present FECAFOOT bureau is bend on respecting the texts put in place, as they attempt to revamp the football sector in the country.
