Cameroonian forward Jean Pierre Nsame got an 80th minutes winner for Young Boys Berne on Sunday as they held-off the challenge of visiting St Gallen to pocket all three points.
St Gallen looked to be out to upset the odds on the day when they took a strange away lead four minutes into the game through Boris Babic, who benefitted from an assist from Silvan Hefti.
19 minutes later, Cedric Zesiger benefitted from a Michael Aebischer’s assist to equalize for the host. Cedric Itten reacted just two minutes later as he put the visitors back in front.
In the half hour mark Christian Fassnacht picked a pass from Ulisses Garcia to level score again for Young Boys Berne.
Both teams retired into the changing room for the first half break with the 2-all parity score.
Five minutes into the second segment, Cedric Zesiger benefitted from a Frederik Sorenson assists to put Young Boys in front for the first on the night with his second goal in the game.
Ermedin Demirovic equalized five minutes later and the game experience a rare 25 minutes period without a goal, until the 80th minutes when Young Boys’ lead striker Jean Pierre Nsame stepped up with the winner from an individual effort.
The game ended on a 4-3 score for the host with Jean Pierre Nsame being the hero on the night as it has been on many occasions this season.
Nsame’s goal on Sunday is his 19th goal plus two assists in 21 games in all competitions this season.
The 26-year-old Cameroon is the lead scorer in the Swiss top flight championship with 12 goals two assists in 14 games this season.
The goal poacher has scored all his league goals from within the box, typical of a finisher with exceptional instincts.
Nsame’s international and club colleague Nicolas Ngamaleu also lasted 90 minutes in the game.
Young boys have accumulated 31 points from 14 games this season, a point better than second-placed FC Basel.
The current Champions travel to Sion after the international break.The Day 15 encounter will see Nsame lining up against his compatriots Alexandre Song and Christian Zock who are all on the books of 6th-placed Sion.
