The management body of Cameroon’s league two club, Foncha Street FC ofBamenda, has reviewed the activities of the team for the 2019/2020 football season wherein the team survived relegation thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic that saw the team maintaining it’s league two status.

During the meeting held Friday July 3, 2020 at the club’s headquarter in Bamenda, the President General of the team, Moh David, described the first season of the team in the league two as a very challenging one. He noted that despite the circumstances that led to the team maintaining it’s league two status, he was confident that his team will survive the relegation battle.

With finances as one of their major difficulty, Mr. Moh David was satisfied that the team was able to pull through without major worries.

“We have potentials in the team but we didn’t produce results. So things have to be well arranged”, President Moh David said.

Each member of the management body ranging from the vice president, secretary general and team manager all highlighted the problems that the team faced in the course of last season and proposed possible solutions for the coming season.

In response, the President General, Mr Moh David, revealed that things won’t be the same again this 2020/2021 football season. Everyone will have his/her roles defined and communication enhanced between management and all those involved.

In the days ahead, the management body of the team will meet with some key stakeholders to present the new vision of the team. They are expected to meet with the Paramount ruler of Nkwen, Fon Azehfor III, the Foncha’s family, business people amongst others.

To ensure that the team lives up to expectation this coming season, the president general announced that a recruitment commission will be put in place, charged with recruiting players for the next season.

Quizzed about the main objective of the team for the 2020/2021 football season, Mr Moh David said that, “we have just one main objective, keep this team alive and fight for a league one ticket”.

Foncha Street FC was created in 2012 by the Foncha Street veteran club but it’s now managed by a team led by President Moh David. The team gained promotion to the professional league two championship at the end of the 2018/2019 season where they emerged as champions of the North West regional league and later picked up an elite two ticket at the national interpools that took place in Bertoua, East region, Cameroon.

In their first season in the league two championship, the team struggled for consistency. The team won just two, draw 12 and lost 8 of 22 matches that they played.
