Former Cameroon and Manchester United midfielder, Eric Daniel Djemba Djemba has recently taken to the social media, to explain how bad friends and his own stupidity cost him a golden career in England.

Djemba Djemba rose to prominence while playing for French side Nantes and Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson offered him a dream move to the premiere league in 2003. A move worth over £3.5 million but Djemba_Djemba who was tipped to be a potential successor of Roy Keane, failed to make a name for himself at the Theatre of Dreams, partly due to his extravagant lifestyle.

The 38_year_old has now explained how he lived a false lifestyle because of bad influence and stupidity.

“I was buying cars I didn’t need”, said Djemba_Djemba.

” I lived a false life just to be respected. I was surrounded by the wrong people “, Djemba added.

” Good money in football brings you fake friends. I was flying high but I fell low in the end”, he continued.

“I wish I could turn back time. I had a great chance at Manchester United but I blew it. Sadly that train is gone”.

Eric Djemba_Djemba’s pathetic story could serve as a lesson to young footballers of our generation, not to fall into the same trap.

During his stay at United, Djemba won one FA cup and a Community Shield. He is also an AFCON winner with the indomitable lions of Cameroon, in the year 2002.

His rollercoaster career took him to Aston Villa in 2005, but Eric Djemba Djemba once again failed to restore his reputation, as he could not break the Gavin McCann and Steven Davis combination in Villa’s midfield, and Djemba was eventually loaned out to Burnley, but still he failed to replicate his Nantes form, that brought him to England.

Moves to Qatar SC, Odense BK in Denmark, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Partizan, St Mirren, Chennaiynin FC and Later to Indonesian side Persebaya Bhayangkara in 2015, meant Djemba’s career continued to witness a downward movement until now where he presently plays for swiss fifth Division club, FC Vallorbe_Ballaigues.

Born in Douala on May 04, 1981, Eric Djemba Djemba has had stints in France, England, Qatar, Denmark, Israel, Scotland, India, Indonesia and Serbia.
