After a difficult start of the league with confusions, bottom place performances, the Abakwa boys have finally risen to the top with just six more matches to go out of 34.
The boys of Coach David Pagou though with inconsistences have been persistent in the league to have reach the top so far with 47 points. The club can boost of the top scorer of the 2019/2020 football season and two players who are in camp ahead of the 2020 CHAN (Leon Boyomo and Ngwang Brian).
In spite of their 5 nil bashing by Coton Sport FC , Pagou has been able to build a squad which can represent the North West region focusing on players like Nchindo John Bosco with free kicks, Awudu Lukong spectacular forward moves, Boung Joel Ondoa and captain Burinyuy Derick’s confident defensive skills, Ndeh Collins who is now a specialist at giving victories in unexpected moments and a host of others.
Out of the 34 matches to crown the league, the Abakwa boys are left with six more to go. Two away and four at home.
Away games have always been most successful for the boys. 14 games each have been played home and away.

More points have been grabbed out of home soil than at home.
BATTLE FOR THE TROPHY.
Nevertheless, day 29 will be against Feutcheu FC of Djiko Bandjoun at the Yong Francis Arena. Feutcheu who was beaten by UMS of Loum last time out will be seeking more points in Bamenda against PWD. PWD had urged Feutcheu 3 nil in Bafoussam and they will be coming to the region to revenge. Feutcheu is currently ranked 5th with 41 points.
Day 30 will see 16th placed and 33 points Avion Academy of the Nkam welcoming the Abakwa boys to seek revival from the 3 nil defeat recorded in their last encounter on match day 13.
After trashing Colombe in front of their home fans on match day 14, 3rd place Colombe will want to mount the top position by getting back at PWD to grab all 3 points. PWD is ranked first with 47 points.
Apejes Academy after separating in a one all against Canon on match day 28 and being beaten by PWD 5-1, it could be a golden opportunity them to return the favor in front of their home fans. Apejes is battling at the 10th place with 37 points so far.
Fovu club of Baham with 40 points will want to battle with PWD on day 33 to stop their race of lifting high the trophy. During day 16, Fovu in front of home fans recorded a 2-1 victory over the Abakwa boys and will want to do it for the second time this season.
Stade Renard of Melong after progressively escaping the relegation zone will be seeking more points from the social club on the last day of the championship. Added advantage for PWD on home soil to end the league. On match day 17, Stade Renard separated with PWD in a one all tie and they may want to stop P’s victory on this day.
It is worth noting that amongst the six teams left to play PWD, four has been beaten by PWD ( Colombe, Avion, Apejes, Feutchue) meanwhile one defeated them (Fovu 2-1), just a single draw recorded against Stade Renard.
Fans of the region expect nothing less than 6 consecutive wins to return home with the trophy home.
