PWD Bamenda started the match making one change to the team that defeated Eding Sports on match day nine. Fegue Omgba replaced the injured Banock Christian.
The Abakwa Boys started the match on a very high level dominating possession.
Their early pressure paid off just three minutes into the match when Nyaba Brian crossed the ball to Tchaoua Leger who delivered a perfect cross to Aboubakar Mohamed as he gave PWD the lead.
The goal from PWD Bamenda gave more impetus in the game as Stade Renard dominated possession of the ball without any meaningful attack.
At the 39th minute of the match, PWD Bamenda came close to doubling the lead but Moluh Mohamed’s header went inches off target.
Three minutes later, Eyegue Francois free kick was put out of danger by goalkeeper Yannick Epane Letizi as PWD Bamenda took a one nil lead at half time.
Upon resumption of the second half, coach Gabriel Zabo of Stade Renard made two substitution. Fabrice Onana and Dzebnyagua Saagui cane in for Etienne Kevin and Steve Roberto Keumi but the substitution won’t produce any meaningful attack for Stade Renard.
Coach David Pagou reacted at the 55th minute when he brought in Balla Atangana in place of Eyegue Francois.
Alfred Meyong A Etong recorded Stade Renard’s first shot on target at the 69th minute of play but goalkeeper Haschou Kerrido made the save.
From a defensive mix up at at the 72nd minute, Frank Koum Dipitta was shown a straight red after bringing down John Paul Nzo Ngong at the edge of the 18yards area.
From the resulting free kick, Aboubakar Mohamed’s shot was well saved by goalkeeper Yannick Epane Letizi.
All efforts from Stade Renard to come back into the match were thwarted by a resilient PWD Bamenda team.
The victory takes PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda to 17points with one match to the end of the first phase of the championship in Pool A.
The Abakwa Boys will travel to Douala on match day 11 to take on Union Sportif of Douala.
