Defensive Maestro, Malone Fondoh Junior Che, 20 has completed a switch from amateur side Continental FC of Buea to legendary Cameroon League 1 side Union Sportive of Douala.

Che moves to Union Sportive after seeing out a 2 year contract with the Southwest Regional championship side.

Che has penned a 2 year deal at USD and was presented to the media on Saturday giving him the responsibility to join the rest of the squad in training ahead of the new football season expected to begin in mid-October.

The former University of Buea defender is arguably one of the best in his generation. He was a key part of the Buea University football team that conquered all-opponents in the 2015 All University games in Yaounde as he helped his side grab a Gold medal.

Nicknamed “Walls of Jericho” by colleagues and fans alike, Che has won the eyes of multiple clubs in the last few years but his entourage has opted for USD.

“I joined USD because it is great club and I needed a bigger platform to expose my know-how, I want to challenge myself to work hard and contribute to attain the objectives of the club while making our fans happy. I know if I do this then I will also get the attention of our different national teams, so am very excited and ready to go” Che told

Over the years, USD have had some great young defenders on their books with the likes of 2017 AFCON Mohamed Djetei, current Under 23 Lion Mbaizo Olivier amongst many other as examples for Che to copy.

Good in his distribution abilities with exceptional aerial ability, Che is in for his first experience in the top flight though he has tasted and succeeded in the second tier Championship with National Polytechnic Bambui in 2017.
