Though the Cameroon Elite One championship has been in action with some wonderful results recorded, the absence of certain key players in the league has slowed down the performance of some clubs.
On the positive note their presence in the intermediate lion’s squad has proven to be fruitful as the boys of coach Yves clement have played 4 friendlies resulting to 2 draws and 2 wins during the four rounds of camping.
Cameroon will host the 2020 African Nations Championship from 4th to 25th of April a tournament solely for players who participate in their local leagues.
The players will return to their various clubs to participate in the 25th day of play for elite one.
Personnel problems face by most clubs will be solved this Sunday.
The following players returning to club duty.
Goalkeepers that made up the the intermediate squad were goalkeepers
Omossola Simon of Coton sports of Garoua that has been very instrumental for the club. The Coton weavers have not recorded a single victory since the beginning of the second phase. ( 4 draws and 3 defeats recorded).
Epane Epane Letizi of Stade of Renard of Melong, Dande Junior of Apejes of Mfou and Fru Anye Derick of Panthère have been very instrumental in their various clubs reason being why they were called up. Fortunately, the return of these goalkeepers may give another phase to these clubs based on the training and experience from the international friendlies with the lion’s.
To have a strong team, a cross section of ideas, talents and skills have to be considered. These gave Arroga the lead to pick out 10 defenders from the various clubs to mount up his “wall of Jericho” in the fifth round of camping.

The absence of these giants at the defense line in their respective clubs has alternated results and ease penetration especially in the case of Coton were dangerous players were shortlisted. Their return in match day 25 may give them an upper hand for points grabbing. If the defense line is weak then the goal posts becomes fragile.
Both offensive and defensive midfielders have vital roles to play. When there are weaknesses at the level of the midfield, the defense line suffers most as much pressure will be mounted by their counterparts. Thanks to the end of the fourth phase of camping for the lions, clubs will use the 10 days left to the end to struggle for the top the top.
The intermediate lion’s camping took away the so-far best 11 midfielders with striking performances such as top scorer Boyomo of PWD. Though it gave other team mates the opportunity to prove themselves it was at the detriment of the club.

Cotonsport and Bamboutos FC have been in trouble as the clubs sacrificed 3 players each in this domain for the intermediate lions.
This explains why Coton has produced the results they currently have. Draws have been frequent for the both clubs the midfield has been weak.
PWD is not not left out with Boyomo’s absence goal scoring have reduced.
Good play and more points is what characterizes an attack line. Without a good striker then the success of a team is not complete. Wisely enough for Arroga and his team one of the best we’re selected with throw backs at the friendlies played. Akono Akono. The head coach picked out
5 strikers which resulted in the 2 draws and 2 wins during camping in Douala.
Samuel Nlend of Union sports of Douala. With 8 goals.
