Cotonsport’s coach Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso, has showered praises on the quality with the ranks of AS Fortuna, following his sides win over the center regional outfit on Sunday.
Fortuna bowed 1#2 to Cotonsport on Sunday at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium on Sunday. It was Fortuna’s seventh defeat of the season, as they tail the league with just eight points in 13 games.
Asked to comment on the performance of his opponents (AS Fortuna) after the game, Cotonsport’s coach Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso said “They are a very good team, especially in the physical aspect. It is true that tactically they are not really strong, but they have lots of individual qualities in the team, who can make the difference”.
Fortuna is playing arguably one of the best football in the league this season, but the results seems not coming. Concerning individual brilliance in the squad, the likes of Zacharie Ndongo, Alain Thierry Akono, Louis Tazoh and a host of others have put up great performances on different occasions, which have unfortunately yielded no fruits.
Cotonsport kept their calm, to beat Fortuna thanks to first half goals from Daouda Kamilou and Youssoufa Maikano, despite a late fight back from AS Fortuna, which saw Alain Thierry Akono pulling one back from the penalty spot. Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso says the cotonites wanted to banish memories of their last outing at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium, with was a 3#0 defeat they suffered in the hands of Canon of Yaoundé.
” I’m satisfied because we wanted to wash away memories of our last game in this same stadium. We were well prepared psychological for this game, but the important thing is the Three points “.
Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso lined up an experimental center back pairing of Richard Ebongue and Goni Ali. Despite the experience of Thomas Etta Bawak and Alphonse Marie Tientcheu from the flanks, the were visible signs of a shaky center back, in the build up to Fortuna’s 78th minute penalty, but coach Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso insist the main objective for the cotonites is the grab maximum points before the end of the first round.
” We are slowly but surely getting there. We want that before the end of the first round, we should have a good lead”, said the tactician.
“We have prepared our players in such a way that any of them can play 90 minutes. Every player needs to be ready in case of any emergencies”.
Cotonsport will next play Union De Mouvement Sportive of Loum on Wednesday, while bottom placed AS Fortuna entertains APEJES of Mfou in Mbankomo.
