Bamboutos FC of Mbouda were held to a zero all draw by AS Fortuna on Wednesday in limbe, in one of day two encounters of the 2019/2020 football season. Fortuna was playing its first game of the session, given that they were not involved in day one action, due to uncertainty surrounding their supposed opponents between PWD and Astres. Bamboutos on their part had send warning signals to the other title contenders, with a solid 5#2 win over Colombe on day one.

As many thought Bamboutos will continue with their ruthless form against AS Fortuna, things proved that two matches are not the same, as Fortuna held tight and shared the spoils with the Mangwa boys.

If there is a player to take credit for Fortuna’s solid display, then it is no other than Louis Tazoh Afuanjih. The 18_year_old left back had one of his best performance ever in the Cameroon top flight, as he stopped Ulrich Pange Lobe, Achille Namekong, Rene Ndi and Hansi Muller Mbappe, from doing their usual show.

Apart from keeping track of his defensive duties, Tazoh supplemented the attack beautifully, with some well measured crosses. Speaking to after the game, Tazoh said “it was our first match this season and it was very difficult because Bamboutos is having a great team, but we did our best”.

Coming up against a star studded Bamboutos squad was definitely challenging. ” We already had our Morales fixed, because we knew the match was never gonna be easy. As for me I have experience playing such high profile games because of My spells with the intermediate lions and the U23 lions. I just kept my head cool, and concentrated throughout the game“, said Tazoh.

After the Bamboutos game, the next equation for Louis Tazoh and his teammates, will be against Stade Renard this weekend, and Tazoh is bracing up for another tough game.

“I believe that on Sunday we will have a good game, because Stade Renard is also having a good team. We will have to fight for the three points“.

Tazoh’s performance against Bamboutos was applauded even by the fans of the Mangwa boys. The former PWD man has grown into a complete left back, and is a good candidate for consideration in the different senior Categories of the Cameroon national selections.
