AS AWA forward, Brenda Tabe was on target twice for the U17 lionesses of Cameroon, in their 6#0 bashing of Sao Tome in the return leg preliminary of Qualifiers for the FIFA Women’s U17 world cup India 2020.

Coach Stephane Ndzana’s baby lionesses went through to the next round with a 10#0 aggregate score, with Brenda scoring three of the 10 goals.

At just 16, the Youngster has netted 20 goals in 16 competitive games for club and country this season. She is second top scorer in the Cameroon women’s league with 17 goals in 13 appearances for AS AWA, and is on a run of three goals in two games for Cameroon’s U17 lionesses.

Brenda Tabe speaking to the press

With her recent brace against Sao Tome in yaounde, Brenda told the press that she was happy, though not satisfied with her performance.

“I’m very happy because we won the match, but we were not realistic in front of the goal. I was expecting to score three goals, but unfortunately I scored just two. Sao Tome is not really a big footballing nation in Africa, so was supposed to have done better”.

Ranked second top scorer in the cameroon women’s league with 17 goals, three behind Louves Minproff’s Flora Kameni, Brenda is not given up on the golden boot race.

“I will go back to my club and I know that it is not going to be easy. I was the top scorer, but now I’m second in race. The first person is more than me with about three goals, but I hope to score more goals”.

Her immediately challenge with her club, will be an away game against giant slayers, Eclair FC of Sa’a, before they face Canon FF, Eding FF and then Louves Minproff is what will be a potential title decider in Cameroon women’s league.

At the level of the U17 lionesses, Brenda and her teammates will face Uganda in the next round of Qualifiers, and she admitted that it is going to be pretty difficult than the Sao Tome equation.
