The indomitable lions of Cameroon have failed to travel to the Moroccan city of Tangier on Saturday as initially planned.
Antonio Conceçao and his boys defeated the Mambas of Mozambique 3#1 at the Japoma stadium in Douala on Friday evening, and were to flew out of the country on Saturday morning for Tangier, where they will face Mozambique in the return game.
The flight that was initially scheduled for 2pm on Saturday, was pushed forward to 9pm.
“Initially scheduled for 2 p.m., the take-off of the flight that was to transport the #LionsIndomptables to Tangier on October 09, 2021 has been postponed to 9 p.m. The company responsible for ensuring this trip has just informed Team Cameroon, ready for departure, of the postponement of the departure time,” read a note from the communication team of the Indomitable lions.
Just when many expected Conceçao and his team to finally leave the Cameroon territory at 9pm on Saturday evening, another Bombshell dropped, this time around announcing that the lions will only take off for Tangier on Sunday, less than 24 hours to their game against Mozambique.
“It is finally this Sunday October 10, 2021 that the #LionsIndomptables leave Douala for Tangier where they face this Monday the national selection of Mozambique in the 4th day of the Qualifiers of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. According to the national airline, the flight initially scheduled for Saturday 9 October 2021 at 2 p.m., postponed to 9 p.m., could not take place for health, administrative and technical reasons,’ read another note from the media officer of the lions late night on Saturday.
The Indomitable lions currently sit second in group D of the qualifiers, with six points, one point behind Ivory Coast. It is still to be known if the game will be pushed forward or still hold on Monday as initially planned.
