Cameroonian goalkeeper, Haschou Kerrido, has said he will always give his support to the other two shot stoppers, as they all compete for a starting spot in Antonio Conceição’s team.
Haschou Kerrido is currently on national team duties with the indomitable lions of Cameroon, but faces huge competition from UEFA champions league semi finalist, Andre Onana and 2017 AFCON winning goalie, Fabrice Ondoa. Haschou was an unused substitute in Cameroon’s zero all draw with Cape Verde in Yaoundé on Wednesday. In an exclusive with kick442.com after the game, the CL Kamsar’s number one, discussed on facing competition from Onana and Ondoa.
“Before being in the national team with them, I have been in the other categories of the national team with them, during which I was playing and they were waiting for their chance. If it’s their own turn now, I will have to encourage and guide them, since I’m their elder“.
Cameroon failed to impress the crowd at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Conceição’s first game on Cameroon soil, but Haschou Kerrido says they are obliged to come back with a better result, from their next game in Rwanda.
” we are not really happy because we were playing at home, and wanted to win the game but we didn’t. There is a second game in Rwanda, were are serene and will continue to fight “.
He added ” it is a new team that we are putting in place, but in Rwanda we must come back with a good result from Kigali “.
Haschou Kerrido has enjoyed most of his football career in the Cameroon top flight, with stints at Unisport, Astres and Dragon, before he recently switched to Guinea Conakry, where he is now in the books of CL Kamsar. His called up into the Cameroon national team by coach Antonio Conceição Da Silva, didn’t come as a surprise, as he has been arguably one of the best goalies in the Cameroon top tier in recent times.
