2019 Champions of the Southwest Regional championship PWD of Kumba have left Limbe en route to Bertoua where they will participate in the 2019 National Inter-pools competition.
Fresh from an impressive display against Cameroon’s representatives in the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup Stade Renard of Melong, PWD trained this Friday morning in Limbe before leaving the Region as a 24 persons delegation with 18 players.
The Meme Works boys as they are funly called are expected to make a stop in Yaounde. From Yaounde they will switch to another bus to take the team to Yaounde.
The competition proper kicks off on Saturday 24th August but PWD will only step out on the pitch on Wednesday to face host Stade Bertoua before facing Kohi of Maroua in their last group game.
Should PWD suceed to bring a League two ticket to the Region, it will be an immense success giving that non of the players in the current squad was alive when PWD last played in the National League.
It is important to note that the club only joined the Regional championship in the build up to the 2019 season after years away from the spotlight even at Regional level.
