AS Fortuna has beaten third tier side Academie la Forme Foot 3#2, in one of the Cameroon cup 16 final games played at the FECAFOOT center in Odza this Tuesday May 28, 2019.
Fortuna took charge of the half , creating a litany of scoring opportunities, which were all thwarted away by goalkeeper, Roger Boris Manga of Academie La Forme foot.
Fortuna opened scores at the 43rd minutes, through Victor Ndzie Nomo, who tapped in from close range, after a defensive mix up from La Forme Foot.
At the start of the second half, Academie La Forme Foot brought in Benjamin Nko’o, in the place of Oscar Loic Nguith, as they searched for an equalizer.
At the 70th minutes, substitute Franklin Kouli Edy missed an opportunity to increase Fortuna’s tally, before center referee Dimoya Florent awarded Fortuna a penalty two minutes later, after he spotted handball from one of La Forme Foot’s defenders, in his box. Rodrigue Ele Ebolo converted the penalty, to put Fortuna two goals up.
At the 79 minutes, Alain Thierry Akono made it three for Fortuna, after he was well served with a pinpoint pass from Franklin Kouli Edy. But one minute later, David Atangana Bela was brought down in Fortuna’s box, and a penalty was awarded to La Forme Foot. Frank Parfait Ezangono pulled one back, to make it 3#1.
At the 84th minutes, David Atangana Bela scored the second goal for Academie La Forme Foot, after Richard Ndando broke in from the right flank.
Academie La Forme Foot tried hard to get an equalizer, but failed to go pass the experience of AS Fortuna.
At full time, it was 3 for Fortuna, 2 for Academie la Forme Foot. Fortuna therefore becomes the first team to seal through to the 8th final.
